The Jurade de Saint-Emilion is back in Hong Kong this month for its Gala Dinner on May 27th at the Grand Hyatt.

In which other cities will you organise events during your Asia tour 2024, and what are the dates?
The Jurade de Saint-Emilion will be present for the opening of Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong on Monday, May the 27th, 2024, for a gala dinner which promises to be a great success!
A selection of 9 of the greatest and most prestigious Saint-Emilion will be served during the dinner. A not to be missed occasion to enjoy great food and wine pairing.
If you’d like to come and share other moments with the Jurade de Saint-Emilion, you are welcome to join us for the Spring Festival (June, Sunday the 16th) and the Harvest Proclamation (September, Sunday the 22nd) : the two main events of the Jurade in France year after year.
We are also planning an exceptional event in Singapore in mid-November (November 14th) with our Chancellery in Singapore and another in Macao (date to come). In which year did you start to organise an annual event in Hong Kong and what makes this city special for the Jurade de Saint-Emilion?
Since 2005, the Jurade de Saint-Emilion has visited Hong Kong several times, firstable for the Coupe des Grands Crus Classés which was every two year, alternating with Vinexpo in France.
Then, in 2012, we founded our Hong Kong Chancellery with Alexander Cheung as its chancelor on the occasion of a Vinexpo Asia. Vinexpo is one of the main wine event for the professionnals of the industry : a perfect occasion to meet new Châteaux, create bond with the different wine regions all around the world and share our love of wines.
As Vinexpo Asia was taking place every two years, the Jurade de Saint-Emilion would come with a delegation of Jurats to celebrate this event, bringing some Saint-Emilion wines in our suitcases.
Since last year, Vinexpo Asia has been held alterning every other year in Hong Kong and Singapore. The Jurade organised the first opening Vinexpo Asia dinner in Singapore in 2023.
Can you tell us more about the Chancellery in Hong Kong? How many members are there, and what are their activities?
The Hong Kong Chancellery was founded in May 2012 with Alexander Cheung as its chancellor.
After graduating in Law, Alexander Cheung worked in a variety of fields such as investment consulting, finance, mergers and acquisitions and trade. He has now joined the family firm, which his father founded in 1971, and works closely with the major Asian groups. He is also deeply involved in the world of wine, has travelled several times to France.
Today, the members of the Hong Kong Chancellery gather throughout the year around tables full of Saint-Emilion wines for special tastings and during charity events during which the Wines of Saint-Emilion are put in the spotlight.
Every Saint-Emilion wines’ lover is welcome to join the Chancellery and participate in those activities.
How long will you stay in Hong Kong, and what exactly do you show at Vinexpo Asia? Which products? Where to find you?
The Jurade de Saint-Emilion trip in Hong Kong has been organised arround the opening gala dinner of Vinexpo Asia. It’s the perfect event to launch this new edition and gather some of our Jurats and winemakers who will stay in the city for the exhibition from May 28 to 30.
You can find them in Hall 1. For example, the Union de Producteurs de Saint-Emilion, the Vignerons de Puisseguin Lussac Saint-Emilion, the Vignobles Ducourt (Château Jacques Noir) or the Famille Saby (Château Rozier) will present their wines during the exposition.
