1) Where are you from, and why did you choose to move to Thailand and start your business in Bangkok?
I am originally from Lyon in France. I chose to move to Thailand because I saw a growing appreciation for high-quality artisanal chocolates in Bangkok and across the country. Thailand’s vibrant culture, its openness to new culinary experiences, and its growing community of food enthusiasts made it the perfect place to start my business. Bangkok, in particular, offers a dynamic blend of tradition and modernity, which aligns well with the vision of my brand.
2) What is “Clement Niel Chocolatier Bangkok” and what makes it special? Do you plan on opening more shops soon?
“Clement Niel Chocolatier Bangkok” is a boutique chocolatier where we craft luxurious, artisanal chocolates using the finest ingredients and innovative techniques. What makes us unique is our attention to detail, our bold yet refined flavour combinations, and our commitment to sustainability and quality. Our chocolates blend French expertise with local Thai influences & flavours, creating something truly special for our customers.
As for future plans, while my focus is currently on perfecting the experience in our Bangkok shop, I do have ambitions to expand to other locations in Thailand and potentially beyond, especially in shopping malls.
3) How is your experience so far? Life in Thailand, business in Thailand? Do you miss France?
My experience so far has been incredible. Life in Thailand is vibrant and inspiring, and the people here have been very welcoming. Running a business in Thailand has its challenges, like anywhere else, but it has also been rewarding. The market here is dynamic and offers plenty of opportunities for growth.
Of course, there are moments when I miss France family, friends, and the familiar landscapes but I’ve also built a life here that I cherish. Thailand has become a second home to me.
