1️⃣ How did the “Les Délices de Marie Yawa” adventure begin?

“I arrived in Hong Kong in 2005. Initially, I was simply passionate about culinary arts.

I am originally from Togo, grew up in France (in the Yvelines and Essonne regions), and also lived in Ivory Coast for five years. Because of this journey, my cuisine is truly Franco-African-American.

For a long time, I cooked for my friends. Gradually, I started providing catering services for events, and I officially launched “Les Délices de Marie Yawa” in 2010 at the request of my friends. It’s a way for me to share my different cultures and talents—a gift from God!”

2️⃣ What are your signature dishes?

“The dish that customers really love is Jollof rice, a slightly spicy rice cooked in a rich tomato sauce (a recipe originating from Senegal). There’s also Alloco, a traditional dish made with plantains—a vegetable version of bananas, used much like potatoes! I also cook ratatouille, exotic fruit salads, and more.”

3️⃣ Where do you source your ingredients?

“I buy fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat from BON EAT O (wholesalers who supply restaurants), as well as local markets. My authentic spices come straight from African shops in Kowloon.”
