Hong Kong * Chandeleur 2026 * Tuesday 3 February
February 3 @ 19:00 - 22:00

Chandeleur (also known as Candlemas or “Crêpe Day” in France) is a traditional French celebration held every year on February 2nd.
It marks 40 days after Christmas and originally comes from the Christian feast commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the temple, with candles symbolizing light and purification (the name “Chandeleur” derives from words related to “candle”).
Over time, it has become a joyful, food-focused holiday—especially famous for eating crêpes! The round, golden crêpes represent the sun and the return of longer, brighter days after winter. In Brittany, people often enjoy galettes (savory buckwheat crêpes) alongside sweet ones, paired with cider.
This event on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, is a great way to celebrate just after the official date—perfect for enjoying galettes, crêpes, starters, and drinks in true French style at La Crêperie in Wan Chai.
